2.Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. Local storage does a similar job: it lets a site remember something between visits. UK law treats both the same way, so both are covered here.
Some storage is strictly necessary to deliver a page you asked for or to keep the site secure, and does not need your permission. Everything else, including analytics, needs your consent before it runs.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking pixels, or session recording.
4.How the consent works
We use Google Consent Mode. When a page loads, all four Google consent signals, covering analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising personalisation and advertising user data, are set to denied before the Analytics tag runs. The tag loads in that denied state, sets no cookies, and does not even send a page view.
If you choose Accept all, we update the analytics and advertising signals to granted, and Analytics then records that page view and subsequent ones. If you choose Reject all, the signals stay denied and nothing further happens.
Separately from Google Analytics, we count page views and calculator steps ourselves so we can tell which tools are worth maintaining. Each page view is tagged with a random identifier created in memory when the page loads. It is never written to your device, it is different on every page, and it cannot be used to recognise you. Because it stores nothing on your device, it does not require consent, and we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
5.Changing your mind
You can change your choice whenever you like:
- Use the cookies link in the site footer to reopen the banner and choose again.
- Choosing "Reject all" after previously accepting switches Google Analytics back off for future page views.
- Clearing your browser's storage for takehome.ai removes your saved choice, and we will ask again on your next visit.
- Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies for any site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website using Google's browser add-on.
