These terms govern your use of takehome.ai and the Take Home application. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

How we handle your personal information is set out separately in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
2.We are not your adviser
Tax depends on facts we do not know about you, and the rules change. Before you act on anything you read or calculate here, check it with a qualified accountant or an appropriately regulated adviser. Where you would like us to, we can introduce you to one.
We are not liable for a decision you take on the basis of a calculator result or a guide without taking advice.
3.Calculators and accuracy
We build the calculators carefully and keep the rates current for the tax year each page states. Even so, they are simplified models. They do not account for every allowance, relief, charge or personal circumstance, and they can contain errors.
Figures are estimates, not a statement of what you owe. HMRC's assessment is what counts. If you spot something wrong, please tell us at hello@takehome.ai, because we would rather fix it.
4.The app, accounts and the beta
The Take Home application is in private beta and access is by invitation. During the beta:
- features may change, break, or be withdrawn, and we may reset data while we develop the product, though we will warn you before we do anything destructive;
- we do not promise any particular level of availability; and
- you should keep your own records rather than treating Take Home as your only copy of anything.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You must give accurate information, and you must not share an account with someone else.
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where we are required to.
5.Connecting your accounting software
If you connect an accounting platform, you confirm you are authorised to do so for that business. The connection is read-only: we can read your accounting data and we cannot change anything in your accounts. You can disconnect at any time from Take Home or from the platform.
Your relationship with the accounting platform is governed by its own terms. We are not responsible for its availability, or for errors in the data it gives us.
6.Introductions and referral fees
We introduce users to accountants, brokers, insurers and pension providers. An introduction happens only when you ask for one.
Those firms are independent of us. We do not provide their services, we are not responsible for the advice they give or the products they sell, and your contract for those services is with them. We earn a referral fee from some of them when you choose to engage them, and we publish those fees in the product.
7.Acceptable use
You may read the site, use the calculators, and share links to our pages. You may not:
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy the site or its content, except that well-behaved search and AI crawlers may crawl it in line with our robots.txt;
- republish substantial parts of our guides or calculator outputs as your own;
- attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site, the app, or any account that is not yours;
- use the site unlawfully, or to submit anything unlawful, abusive, or misleading; or
- use automated means to submit forms or to generate large volumes of calculations.
We publish machine-readable interfaces, including an MCP server, for AI agents to use. Using those interfaces as documented is welcome and these restrictions are not intended to prevent it.
8.Our content
The site, its content, its design and the calculator logic belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may quote a short extract with a link back to the page you took it from. Anything more needs our written permission.
Take Home and our logo are our trade marks. Other names and marks on the site belong to their owners, and we use them only to identify their products.
9.Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- the site and the calculators are provided as they are, without warranties of accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss; and
- our total liability to you for all claims connected with the site or the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 pounds.
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect.
10.Changes, and the law that applies
We may change these terms, and the current version is always on this page with its effective date. If a change materially affects account holders, we will tell them by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
We may change or withdraw any part of the site at any time.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Questions go to hello@takehome.ai.
